With all of this new technology in the world today, my science class has purchased a SMART Board for different activities. A SMART Board is a large, touch-controlled screen that works with a projector and computer. The first one was created back in 1991 by SMART Technologies. The projector throws an image of the desktop onto the board, which acts as both a monitor and an input device. People can write on the board with digital ink or manipulate applications with just a touch of a finger. The ink colors come in black, red, green, and blue. A digital eraser is included (just for the sloppy writers like me). Two additional buttons act as a pop up keyboard and a right-click. My father's company uses it, too, to communicate with people in Belgium (that's where the business's headquarters is). Personally, I believe all classrooms should have SMART Boards because it's easier not only to learn things, but to even teach them. For more info on this fabulous work of artistry, go to
