Mobile Internet Has Highest Speeds... Literally

In these hard economic times, we see more mergers than ever before, like TD Bank and Commerce, Nextel and Sprint, AT&T and Cingular, and most recently Verizon and Alltel. But what if I told you that Internet is merging with car dashboards? No joke! Well, in March, Ford will be introducing a fully functional computer... on the dashboard, with a keyboard and mouse. I wouldn't recommend getting it unless you're a working business man (or woman) who needs to surf the web and review important files while driving, which I just noticed, is very dangerous. This application also comes with 22 satellite TV channels, courtesy of AT&T. Hyundai will launch something similar to Ford's idea, but it only tells you if you're drifting off of the lane. Other manufacturers are also doing similar adjustments, such as heat-sensed cameras that warn you if a person or animal is ahead of you. I believe the Internet idea is horrible because it puts you at risk for getting into an accident. Other improvements, such as the heat-sensed cameras, are a terrific idea because even my dad has trouble seeing if there is a pedestrian crossing the street, during the day or at night. In all, I feel Ford has gone a bit too far, but new inovations to the automobile are splendid.
